Happy New Year’s from The Riddle Dude

Everyone knows that New Year’s Day follows Christmas Day by a week. For example this year, when Christmas Day is on a Saturday, which it was a couple of years ago, New Year’s Day will be on a Saturday, too, seven days later, right?

Here’s the question: What is the most recent year in which Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fell on different days of the week?

May your New Year be everything you wish it to be.

  • Paul

2010 – New Years was on a Friday and Christmas was on a Saturday 51 weeks apart.

  • You are correct, Paul.

It’s kind of a play on words. Remember, this year, Christmas (2010) was Saturday, but the New Year’s Day that just passed was New Year’s (2011).

    You’re today’s winner.
