  The man was in a hot air balloon with a group of people and it got too heavy so they all took their clothes off.
  The balloon was still too heavy so they pulled straws to see who would have to jump off.
  The man drew the losing straw and fell to his death.

  Wrong. It was a mob hit. The scene was staged so that the local constabulary, known for their gullibility, would reach the aforementioned conclusion. No one would agree to jump to their death from a “too heavy” hot air balloon, as the worst case scenario for such a vessel would be floating to the ground.
