Two Pots

A Crow needs to drink some water, there are two stone pots near him, the only source of water is from these two pots, they are about 3 quarters full but the crow’s beak cannot reach the water, he cannot carry the pot to pour one to the other, he can tip over a pot but if he does it will fall and shatter to a thousand small pieces and the water will evaporate instantly, he can’t get the water if he shatters the pot, how can he get the water then?

  • Paul

Knock over one pot and drop the broken chunks into the 3/4 filled pot in order to raise the water level until the crow’s beak could reach.

  • Yes, that is the solution.

The key “hint” is that the second pot would shatter into “a thousand pieces.” Small enough to raise the water level in the second pot. Nicely played.

    You’re today’s winner.
