  14 ounces, 8 + 4= 12 ounces and if 1 bottle weighs 12 Onces

  1 bottle = 12 Ounces
  1/2 bottle – 6

  12 + 6 = 18

  18 Ounces is the answer.

  24 ounces is the weight of a bottle and a half

  16 ounces + 8 ounces (half of 16 ounces) = 24 ounces

  16 ounces is the weight of a bottle

  8 ounces + 8 ounces (half of 16 ounces) = 16 ounces

  24 ounces: the bottle weighs 16 ounces.

  As a bottle weighs eight ounces plus half a bottle we can write this as:

  B = 8 + ½B

  Take ½ from both sides to get:

  ½B = 8

  So B = 16, which means B + ½B = 24
