Decipher This For Me Please

Decipher This For Me Please
At dawn on Monday a snail fell into a bucket that was 12 inches deep.

During the day it climbed up 3 inches, however, during the night it fell back 2 inches.

On what day did the snail finally manage to climb out of the bucket?

Looks like the following Wed. Assuming it wasn’t a leap week!

    On a Friday?

Tuesday a week…9 days worth of climbing. On that Tuesday it would have reached the rim and, if not too exhausted, been able to topple over to the outside. Hooray!

He will arrive at the top at the end of the day the following Wednesday (as Brent said).

Thursday, because he has to have one day to climb over it.

The following Wednesday, nine days later. At dawn on Monday the snail was at the bottom. Each day it climbed 3 inches, and dropped 2 inches over night, so at the start of the next day it was 1 inch higher, so: Monday morning – 0

It is Thursday, NOT Wednesday. Assuming the snail starts completely at the bottom, and his NOSE travels 3 inches up and slides back 2, then his NOSE hits the rim the following Wednesday – his body would still be below the rim. He gets out on Thursday.

(If the back end of the snail is supposed to have reached 3 inches on day one, then the snail traveled MORE than 3 inches.)
