For a wedding reception, the caterer found that 6 sandwich makers made 36 sandwiches in two hours.  But, the caterer needs 216 sandwiches. 

How many sandwich makers does he need to make 216 sandwiches in one hour?

  That’s some slow sandwich making at only three per hour each. It would take 72 of them to make 216 in one hour.

  I agree. These are some slow sandwich makers. I hypothesize that this problem came from one of the Common Core textbooks at the middle school level.

  The answer is 12.if 6 makes 36 in two hours.6×36=216 to get that number in one hour double the sandwich makers..

  There would need to be 36 sandwhich makers. 36 goes into 216, 6 times. 6 times 6 is 36.
