Happy New Year

Everyone knows that New Year’s Day follows Christmas Day by a week. For example, when Christmas is on a Monday, which it was a couple of years ago, New Year’s Day will be on a Monday, too, seven days later, right?  Here’s the question: What is the most recent year in which Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fell on different days of the week?

  Actually, in 2012-2013, new years is today, a Tuesday. And in 2011-2012 they were both on a Sunday.
