The skyscraper has an open air roof-top pool. He climbed onto the diving board. He did not die … instead he did dive … a typo in posting the riddle, and after swimming to the edge of the pool he exited and walked away from the pool
He dies in the real world and enters the afterlife (heave, hell, etc.) and continues living there
Jon is a cat.
