A little lost boy walks through a meadow. He comes to a bridge. In front of the bridge is a troll carrying an axe. The troll says, “If you want to cross this bridge, you must tell me a statement. If I think the statement is true, you will be strangled to death. If I say the statement is false, your head will be chopped off.” A few minutes later, the boy walked over the bridge, while the troll stood pondering.
What was the statement the little lost boy had given?

The kid said to the troll, “You’re going to chop my head off” If the troll agrees it’s true the troll must strangle the kid – but that was the fate he planned for a lie. However if the troll considers it a lie, the troll must chop off the head off – but that doesn’t work because if he does then the kid has told the truth. A bad day for the troll
