  But I’m thinking an average 32 spoke wheel will have more spaces between spokes than most people would guess…?

  Good point Brent, but the question did not specify what type of wheel. Although your picture shows a bicycle wheel, what if the wheel is a wooden wagon wheel off of an old west stage coach?
