A woman was found dead in her study. She was slumped over her desk and a gun was in her hand. There was a cassette recorder on her desk. When Max & the police entered the room and pressed the play button on the tape recorder they heard: “I can’t go on. I have nothing to live for.” Then there was the sound of a gunshot.
How did Max the detective immediately know that the woman had been murdered and it wasn’t a suicide?

The tape recorder had been stopped (from recording the note) and rewound. A suicide victim would not have been able to do that.
Being old, and actually using a tape recorder may have helped solve this one??
Brent, you are today’s winner!
Someone had to have rewound the tape.
The tape must have been shut off after the murderer shot her. Otherwise, it would have run on to the end in “record”
I’m always too late with the correct answers!…don’t keep up on these riddles…….
OK Margot, you’ve got it. I will try to only wear my riddle dude hat first thing in the morning. I will also adjust the release time to the morning so everyone gets a day to answer.
