I like the guess, it fits in a couple ways, but I’m curious what you were thinking the second sentence might mean ;)

Nope. It’s not a couple. I expect this to be quite a hard one, but when revealed the answer will make perfect sense. Just takes a random flash of insight to get on the right track.

  • Heath

    Punctuation

  • yes,its punctuation.

  • Crabman

Not punctuation :) Althpugh it’s a decent guess.

  • Keep trying everyone!

The Sun or a star, perhaps?

We would not exist without the Sun giving us light (so we wouldn’t make sense without it).

We get up (normally) when there is light (ie when the Sun rises), so it ‘makes us start’.

And light may continue indefinitely until the end of the universe, as it spans new horizons, so it exists ‘perpetually’, much like we would observe light until our species becomes extinct, but for us, this could well be considered ‘perpetual’.

    Is this right?

  • Crabman

Not celestial object of any sort

  • Crabman

I begin to think this riddle enjoys going unsolved.

  • brent

    Could almost be teeth.
“I make you start” – allow nourishment?
“perpetually exist” – set of dentures.

    Another idea is energy.

  • Crabman

I like “teeth” for your reasons Brent, but that’s not it either. I’m afraid of this riddle forever being unsolved.

  • Luca

I’m thinking of life and death.
Yet i’m not totally sure how that would correspond with the second sentence…

  • Crabman

I have given the answer, spread across 2 comments in this thread :)

  • Luca

    a riddle and a solution

  • Crabman

I love that answer Luca! It fits almost perfectly, but alas it’s not one in mind.

As I’m wondering if there’s enough detail (I am new at this after all) I’ll say again that I gave (very highly alluded to) the answer in 2 of my responses here, both of the ones from August 3

  • Matt

    eyes?

Without them, you can’t see. (no sense)
Open them and the day starts (thin, I know)
I’m lost on the third clause.

    Other guess,
    memories

  • hal

Without me, you (u) make no sense.
In the middle, I (as in the vowel) make you start.
At the end (in this last line), we perpet(u)ally ex(i)st.

    ‘U’, and ‘I’?

  • Hal, you are on the right track, but missed the solution.
    Keep trying everyone!

    TIME!!!!

  • Crabman

    Time is a good guess.

I say again, I gave the answer in my 2 August 3rd posts.

  • Rachel

    An unsolved riddle?

  • Tracey

I’m thinking Conception or pregnancy or childbirth . Beginning , middle and end .

  • Still this riddle goes unsolved.
    Keep trying everyone!

  • Tracey

Emotions/ feelings ? Based on your clues , you used ‘enjoys’ and ‘afraid’ when talking about the unsolved riddle

  • Matt

    This is a tricky one.

    “Meaning of Life”
    “circle of life”
    “Life”

Without me, you make no sense. (Why are we here?)
In the middle, I make you start. (pregnancy)
At the end, we perpetually exist (life persists)

I’m getting thrown by some of your comments. I’m trying to process the riddle along with the clues.
    1. I begin to think this riddle enjoys going unsolved.
    2. I’m afraid of this riddle forever being unsolved.
    3. The “U” and “I” guess was on the right track.

  • Matt

    “Q”

Without me, you make no sense (a reference the q and u partnership, perhaps)
In the middle, I make you start (a queue of people waiting to eat)
At the end, we perpetually exist (a star trek reference, Q or the Q continuum)

  • Alan

    A riddle and its answer?

    Positive and negative?

    Inside and outside?

  • Matt

    Thunder and Lightning!!!

Without me, you make no sense. (they go hand-in-hand)
In the middle, I make you start. (lightning strikes and then you hear the thunder)
At the end, we perpetually exist. (transfer of energy from one place to the other)

  • Nobody has the solution yet.
    Keep trying!

  • Crabman

I’ve thought about it and still think this word riddle is fair. In case the word “perpetually” is causing confusion, it could be removed from the riddle. I’ve given other clues above as well.

  • Bobby

    “E” and “D” maybe?
Without m(e), you make no sense.
In the mi(dd)l(e), I make you start.
At the (e)n(d), we perpetually exist.

  • Bobby, you are on the right track. It is a letter and if you rearrange the letter, you make two words. Without the letter both would not be a word.
    Keep trying!

  • Matt

    The letter “g”

Without me, you make no sense. (bein)
In the middle, I make you start. (begin)
At the end, I exist. (being)

  • Crabman

    👏 👏 👏 👏

  • Yea! Matt, you are today’s winner!
The letter “g” and letters “bein”. Without the letter “g”, bein isn’t a word. In the middle it spells “begin” at the end is spells “being”.
